Myakka State Forest walk led by Bill Dunson on March 20 from 9-11 am. A  1.5 mile loop walk along the Gordon Smith or the Rocky Creek Trails reveals many interesting aspects of the natural history of pine flatwoods, a pristine freshwater pond and the upper end of a tidal creek.  The interaction of fire, salinity and hydroperiod are the major factors as is human management of the land.
