This month’s walkabout will take place at Kiwanis Park on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 starting at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot at 501 Donora Street, Port Charlotte, FL.  This county park is well-known for its fine birding opportunities, wildflowers, wildlife, easy-to-walk trails, cypress swamp, bridges, horseshoe-shaped lake, renovated playground, large grassy play area, and physical fitness stations.

Numerous migratory birds visit this park during the fall and winter seasons. A variety of ibises, herons, and egrets frequent this park throughout the year. Many birders’ life lists are added to following visits to this park.
